Missed garbage/recycling-If a resident has missed garbage/recycling collection they should call Advanced Disposal at 262-679-0860. Missed Friday pick-ups are usually collected the following Monday. If garbage and recycling are not picked-up after the call, residents should contact Department of Public Works at 414-228-1710 for staff to follow-up.
Yard Waste-Yard waste should be placed on the curb the day of your garbage collection. The definition of yard waste is "leaves, tree limbs or branches that do not exceed four inches in diameter or 4 feet in length, brush or vegetative matter resulting from landscaping maintenance". Yard waste should be placed in sturdy paper bags suitable for containing Yard Waste or other suitable containers, excluding the Carts and plastic bags. They do not collect more than 3 cubic yards per collection address at a time. This is not a tree removal service. If a resident has a tree taken down, it will be necessary to work with that contractor to dispose of the tree.
Bulk pick-up-Your bulk item should not be placed on the curb until after 4 pm the Sunday immediately prior to the Monday pick-up. If a resident calls within 2 work days prior to Monday the pick-up is that Monday. Example, resident calls on Tuesday, July 23 the bulk pick-up would be July 29. Bulk items are defined as “furniture, rolled carpeting (4ft maximum length), lumber (4 ft maximum length), cabinets and/or countertops, mattresses/bed springs, non-metal doors, wood windows.” For additional items, such as drywall from remodeling a home, it would be necessary to get a dumpster. The call center for Advanced Disposal will ask what the pick-up is for. Advanced Disposal will only pick-up the items identified in the call if they are within the definition. Residents will be informed if the item is not able to be picked up and what possible options they may have.
