Board of Appeals
Overview
The purpose of the Board of Appeals is to review proposals that do not meet the City of Glendale Ordinance requirements such as a front yard setback, a side yard setback, a rear yard setback, etc., due to unusual conditions of a specific property, or to appeal the decision of an administrative officer.
Appeal Application
A Board of Appeals Application (PDF) is due by the 3rd Wednesday of the previous month before a meeting. Special requirements are as follows:
The purpose of the Board of Appeals is to review proposals that do not meet the City of Glendale Ordinance requirements such as a front yard setback, a side yard setback, a rear yard setback, etc., due to unusual conditions of a specific property, or to appeal the decision of an administrative officer.
Appeal Application
A Board of Appeals Application (PDF) is due by the 3rd Wednesday of the previous month before a meeting. Special requirements are as follows:
- Failure to meet this deadline will push back a variance request by an additional 4-6 weeks.
- A Board of Appeals application form must be completed, and a non-refundable, $250 processing fee must be submitted prior to the processing of the appeal application.
- Meeting the submission deadline does not guarantee that your proposal will be placed on the upcoming meeting agenda. Please allow approximately 4-8 weeks for your proposal to be processed.
- The City of Glendale Police, Public Works, Building Inspection, and Engineering Departments and the North Shore Fire Department also might review and provide an opinion on the variance request.
- Attendance at this meeting is mandatory
